The only thing changed here is a waaay better texture work.
Finally looking rather good isn’t it?
Smooth normals OK. Terrain optimization OK. Level of detail system OK. There’s a bunch of small artefacts but I’ll fix this later… (as my lame 4 bits water smooth).
Adding vertex normals to process lighting. By the way you have noticed that I’m making my own terrain / scene system from scratch. That’s a small time invesment to preserve maximum scalability for the future.
And here comes the unavoidable texture splatting! Well… a work in progress anyway. My planet is coming to life…
I’m back to my project. 7th day of work here, working on smooth transitions between land and water. But because of my terrain system I only have 4 bits left to make this gradient and that’s obviously not enough… it’s not really a bug but… it’s clearly a problem.
Ok, I declare the bug list opened!
